How to pick a GPU upgrade
A graphics card upgrade is usually the cleanest path to more FPS, but only when the game and settings are truly GPU-bound.
- Look at your target first: 60 FPS, 90 FPS, and 120 FPS each change the upgrade value.
- If your current result is already near the target, a huge jump in GPU tier may not be worth the price.
- Higher resolutions and RT modes usually increase the value of a stronger GPU more than a stronger CPU.
- When 1% lows are poor but average FPS is already high, CPU or memory may matter more than the graphics card.
SpecBeacon is designed to show the first GPU step that meaningfully improves the result instead of defaulting to the biggest or newest model available.
